My Favorite Kitchen Essentials
Cooking is my happy place. I love to pour a drink, put on some jazz and make a recipe from one of my favorite cookbooks. (More on my favorite cookbooks later).
Here are my favorite kitchen essentials that I can’t live without:
Avocado Storer & Slicer: Half an avocado for toast in the morning, and the other in a salad at night. The perfect tool to keep ‘em fresh when you don’t use the whole thing.
Plastic Cutting Boards: These are so convenient! They don’t take up much room, are super easy to clean and dishwasher safe. I use one for meat, the other for prepping, etc. . LOVE them.
Immersion Blender, Whisk and Frother: The immersion blender is great for soups- no need to get a blender dirty when you’re trying to puree- just stick this in the pot and it will immerse the liquid. I love how it has a pulse option if I want less puree, more texture. It also comes with a whisk attachment for quick recipes and a frother for that perfect coffee topping. The multi-purpose options are great.
Vitamix Blender: I’ve had this for over five years and use it every single day. Smoothies, blended coffee drinks, soups, homemade salad dressing- I could go on and on. It’s the best investment I’ve made for kitchen essentials.sh blend and it cleans itself! And did you know Vitamixers have a ten year warranty? A blade broke last year and I got a replacement within a couple days. The customer service was fantastic.
Hand Held Vaccum: Another essential I use multiple times a day. Seriously cannot imagine what I’d do without it. I store it in our cabinet on it’s charger.
Berry Keeper: such a game changer for the amount of time our berries stay fresh. From 2-3 days to 7-10 days! I add a paper towel at the bottom of the container to soak up excess juice if needed.
Herb Stripper: who wants to pick each tarragon or cilantro leaf off? This is so easy and my kids are willing to help with prep if they can use this gadget.
Non-Stick Scraping & Cooking Spoon: This is the PERFECT cooking spoon. You can scrape, measure, stir, mix, scoop and serve using one spoon. It’s safe on non stick pans and comes with 15ml tablespoon and 5ml teaspoon measurement lines. And the clever handle design means you don’t need a spoon rest.
Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker My husband goes to work about an hour before I get up but the coffee stays fresh and hot. The removable coffee reservoir holds up to twelve 5 oz cups of coffee. Plus I love how there are no pots to clean!
Our Place Pans: I got these pans for Christmas last year and got rid of so many of my other pans. They are non-stick, not super heavy and so dang pretty! Love love love them.
Scissors: Hands down the best scissors I’ve ever had. Trust me.
Bread Knife: perfect for cutting bagels, bread and anything that needs a serrated knife.
Santoku Knife: this is my go-to chopping knife and the one I use the most. 100% worth the investment.
Instant Pot & Air Fryer in One: One stop shop for all things. The air fryer sits on top of the instant pot- takes up less room.
